As you work through a lesson, you will need to be able to refer back to the instructions on this page at regular intervals.

You will need two Internet Explorer windows open at once.

All the links on this page open in a new window. You can look at websites and complete the exercises in this new window and keep your lesson open. Here's how:

  1. Look at the bottom of the screen. There is a LearnTheNet icon on the task bar for this web page:

  2. If you click on a link, a new web page will open adding an icon to the task bar
    (click on this picture if you want to see a larger version):

  3. You might want to maximise this new window
  4. To see your instructions just click back on the LearnTheNet icon
  5. When you have finished working in the other web page, close it by clicking on the close icon or by clicking on File|Close
  6. Try it now:
    1. Click on this link
    2. Go back to this page by clicking on the icon on the taskbar
    3. Go back to the other page
    4. Close that page
    5. Leave this page open.

There is a green menu bar at the top of each page with useful links and information:

  • Click on web seach to go direct to the Google UK website
  • Click on email to go direct to the inbox.com email sign in page
  • Click on contacts if you want to contact Lifelong Learning and Skills
  • Click on docs at the top of the page if you need any of the recording documents needed for this course
  • Click on glossary at the top of page for a description of key words and phrases
  • Click on help at the top of page for help using this website
  • Click on print at the top of the page to print out any of the instructions
